Just a really brief rundown on the Chit Chats situation as I understand it. This is for Ontario at the Niagara crossings only.
- Chit Chats had their trucks turned back at the border by U.S. Customs.
- Tens of Thousands of packages were unloaded at the Burlington Branch.
- Each package is manually being re-scanned and sorted into 4 piles
1. HTS Codes and no China CoO
2. HTS Codes with Chinese CoO
3. No HTS Codes and no China CoO
4. No HTS Codes with Chinese CoO
- From what I understand, packages in group 1 will be loaded on a truck tonight (Feb 6th) and will cross and clear tonight. These packages will get priority.
- Clients who do not have CoO or HTS listed on their packages can manually edit each shipment to include this information on the Chit Chats website.
- Chit Chats is requesting that you use the 10-digit HTS code, as opposed to the 6-digit code.

Thanks for the update. I presume Chit Chats is the carrier that had the 50,000 fine for having a Chinese package.
Watching my packages on Stallion's website, but my Monday package was tendered to USPS on Tuesday, and has come back to Mississauga today. It's just one package, so not a very good sample.
My wednesday packages are still being processed in Mississauga.

Stallion "Tendered to USPS" scans are almost always done in Mississauga, the package you gave them on Monday never left the Stallion HQ. Just like the ones I dropped off on Tuesday except those don't have the Tendered scan because Stallion, by Tuesday night, knew they were not taking them across the border right away.

Thanks for the update. The monday package showed tendered to USPS, but then switched back to processing yesterday.
Do you know when Stallion might start taking packages across? I emailed customer service but they're not quick to respond. I'm getting faster better information in the forum.

Good thing Chichats and Stallions had the huge earnings bump during the strike, they need that to tide them over until the processes are now worked out.
