Does ebay give special privilege for some sellers?

A couple of months ago, I tried to sell an adult magazine. Before I listed the magazine, I chatted with an agent and checked the guidelines. So I followed the instruction such as covering the exposure of the skins and then listed it on the magazine category. As you guessed, the very next day, the listing was removed claiming it's an adult material. So I contacted the ebay agent and explained the situation. Moreover, I told them this  https://www.ebay.ca/itm/264828132808  was the listing I based on and I used the "Sell it yourself" from there. I also asked, how come this listing is still active? The agent said, it shouldn't be there. Basically that's all he said. Out of the curiosity, I reported the listing as an adult material. But then there's no change unlike what happened to mine. So, I went even further. I checked the seller's listings, found bunch of adult magazines from the seller like this. I reported several of them, but then again no changes. I talked to the agent again, and he said, they will be gone. I checked it today after a couple of months, they are still there. This is really strange, and I can't help but wonder what makes this seller different? Or simply, does ebay give special privilege for some sellers? Thanks in advance.

Just to be clear.

You did sell under Other and on dotCOM?

Because "adult" material cannot be sold on dotCA.

And you are not (yet) in Managed Payments, which also does not support adult material (yet)?

Remember that eBay customer reps are based in Utah and tend to be vague on concepts like "Canada is not a US state."

The english-language magazine listing you pointed at is all in french, so was probably listed on cafr.ebay.ca

The ebay AI robots remove listings (magazines do not have a UPC identifier) based on detecting words that match prohibited profiles. I suspect their english is better than their french detecting.

Multiple reports are needed before human eyes are assigned to look at a listing to see if it should be shut down (one report can just be an unhappy competitor and ebay has a limited number of eyes).

eBay has announced plans to shutdown the adult category on ebay in July/2021.
