Ebay closed case 3 hours after it was opened? Says I didn't respond? lol

Hi,

   Last night at 9:21 a buyer in Korea opened a case against me about not getting a package I sent last week.  By 12:33 (3 hours later) Ebay closed the case, the reason given is I didn't respond to the claim.  I had heard nothing prior to today, and I didn't check my email last night. 

    Is this normal?  Should I start opening cases in the middle of the night to avoid having to deal with sellers? lol
