From the US boards. Everyone should read the US posting below as Ebay is going insane for money.

have never used the OFFERS feature in all my years on eBay and have no intention of starting, so whatever the fuss is about I shall ignore it...

If anything this appears to be a random test at this point. I frequently revise items and have not seen this pop up on .com listing form and see no related charges on previous/pending billing. Something to keep an eye on.

There has been some indication, on the discussion boards of eBay.com, that a Best Offer Option has been added to a listing by eBay..
The seller sees this and does a revision.... and sometimes that Best Offer Option is back.
One can suspect that the indication is that this listing has been on eBay for a long time, and most likely at too high a price....
---------------------
There was once an option on eBay UK that if a listing was on eBay longer than 16 months, the seller would be billed 50 cents..... Not too sure if this situation is a reality.

Just saw the following on eBay.com
Seller had the Best Offer Option in a listing.
Received a low offer..... that was refused..... and...... then .....
Seller was billed 35 cents............
Seller called eBay and was told he had a chance to make a sale!!!!!

I give eBay as few chances as possible to mess with my listings which is the reason I do not have an eBay store, I pay no attention to any suggestions by eBay pertaining to making ANY changes to my listings, I do not offer returns(knowing that I can be forced to accept returns anyway), and I NEVER use the Best Offer option.

It said that the Best Offer Option has been added by eBay. Gotta!! I always suspect it is eBay that hack into our auctions the whole time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had some buyers that make offer for $39.99 item at $10.00 which I refused and eBay thought I should accepted this insane low offer??!! NO fricking way!! Maybe it is better not have a Best Offer Option as the buyers think they can take advantage and make insane low offers which is annoying!!

With a Best Offer Option a sellers has two options .....
(1) To consider all offers made by potential buyers, no matter how low the offers are.
(2) To set a value, and have eBay not show the seller any offers below this value
