I magine my shock when I opend my ammolite jewelry shop today and checked one of the listings to find that some competitor called JTV had a big ad advertising competing product right in MY store.
So I am paying Ebay for a store that they, Ebay, let a competitor advertise in?
Has Ebay gone mad?
First sales are dropping like a stone and then this?
I called Ebay and the rep opened the same page I was looking at but this JTV ad was not showing up on the Ebay end.But it remained loud and clear on mine.
They say they are looking into it and will get back to me--if they do--I will update this report.

Well, this is a step beyond!
I thought it unsporting and a bit slimy when a seller from whom I recently purchased some small items plastered his name all over the FB he left me (effectively advertising himself on my FB page). I probably could have reported him (for what infraction exactly, I'm not sure), but I decided to let it go and allow the FB to eventually cycle off page 1, out of view.
However, your experience is clearly outrageous, and I wonder if direct hacking is involved (i.e. not that eBay allowed it, but that they actually have no knowledge or control). I'd keep after Customer Service on this one.
By the way, I guess we have a new government today in N.S. - cheers from Annapolis Royal up the road.

EBay has been doing this for a few years now.
Your products show up on their pages too.

Turns out it's an "ad choice" program from Ebay.
The **bleep** thing places ads on my screen selecting stuff relevent to me--ergo it is placing ads from JTV on ammolite items thinking its relevent to me because I sell ammolite.
No one else coming to my shop can see these ads--I checked on an unrelated computer and the JTV ads do not show on their computer in my shop.
Never seen this stuff before but it looks like it its not malicious or an Ebay fault.
Meanwhile--sales still tanked!

That is not so.

You may want to check around.
But I believe it is possible to prevent this "cross advertising" from occurring

Are you referring to ads in your listing? As Femme mentioned there have been some sort of ads on the listing pages for quite a while now. I notice them more on .com. As far as it not being ebay's "fault"...it is a revenue source for them.
Something fairly new that really bothers me are the ads on com near the bottom of the search page. If you click on see sellers items and scroll to the bottom of the page, you will see some sponsored ads which are BEFORE the page number links that you click on to go to the next page of items. When you reach those sponsored links, it looks as if you are at the end of the sellers listings..unless you keep scrolling. I'm sure that many buyers don't realize that there are more pages of listings.
