So then why is the number of watchers not displaying on my the actual listing anymore? Is there a fee one has to pay to get this option? The number of watchers display on my Sellers Manager page. This is the same issue a number of sellers have noted.

eBay's threshold for watchers is set at "5 or more".
Once an item reaches 5 watchers it will be displayed on the listing.
Why 1-4 watchers are not displayed anymore is just bad decision making on eBay's part when they decided to upgrade the listing page.

I read the blog. So what has been suggested here, multiple watchers DO create visibility and not as the lame excuses posted says by our 2 regular mods. If that is the case, we should start our own "watch program" We "watch" each others listings. If we can get at least 5 "watchers" per item, theoretically, we should go to the top of the list then real views and "watchers" will soon appear. I currently have 25 listings with 0 - 5 views over a very long time. The few sales I've had the last couple of days, had many views and some "watchers", that is not a coincidence. It seems the posters on the blog are just as baffled as some of us here.

BTW Anyone know what is AB Verify?

Not sure that is exactly the case. When one views the OP's listings they are displaying on less than 5. So maybe this is a possible glitch or is it specified somewhere in an announcement?

Currently have the wonderful total of 11 items that "show" as having a single watcher but do not display on the actual listings. Again a variation of Where's Waldo! Possibly other sellers with the same item monitoring prices.

The OP's listings are an anomaly and are not the norm.
Why that is, is a mystery or perhaps it's somehow associated to the categories she lists in...
If you look at my listings, only after 10 do they show in the general search (highlighted in red).
When you click on an actual item you will see 5 or more if the listing has reached 5 watchers.

I use the mobile app a fair bit and it typically will show 1+ watchers.
05-29-2018 01:42 AM
Yes, the mobile app will show 1 or more watchers and 5 or more from a desktop view....

In doing a quick scroll was able to spot 5 or 6 Waldo's all with at least 10 (May have missed a few) in your listings. That's why I was wondering if it was a feature one had to pay the privilege for. Too bad you can't sort items with watchers?

Shouldn't they display the same across all platforms?

Yes, they should display across all platforms but this is eBay and being inconsistent is the norm.

That's an observation that requires an honest explanation from the powers that be.

I believe poster, "musicyouneed" tirelessly attempted to inquire about this issue (the OP's listings showing various watcher numbers highlighted in both black and red) a year or two ago and was left empty handed....

Sadly that's always been one of my biggest items of concern. The amount of visibility each and every seller gets . It should be on a level playing field. Every time I believe we have a way to up our visibility something will change to get it taken away from us.

I really think it has to do with the items your selling and categories their listed in.... I find sellers who sell comic books have a similar watcher format to that of the OP's listings.
Sellers in the Movie Memoriliblia categories are very similar to what I've seen in my own listings.

Those with stores already pay to have their listings displayed, regardless of how many views and watchers. If there are conditions for being visible it should be clearly defined in the "lease agreement" or whatever those with stores have to agree on.
As I only pay fees when I sell, I have no say, BUT if I did, I would yell from the rooftops how fraudulent practices are permitted here. We love to have your store fees, oh but we're sorry only some of your listing will be visible all the time.
