This is what I have never understood about ebay..You have these sellers providing 200 bad transactions a month..therefore peeving off 200 buyers a month and still the seller gets featured as a good seller??..A small seller can have 2 negs a month and be suspended if not banned from ever selling again.

So..200 bad transactions is good by ebays favorites...and 2 bad ones by a small seller is bad?..I mean.. the buyer doesn't care what size seller they bought from just that they had a bad experience on ebay and it is amazing that ebay doesn't care.Yet ebay keeps telling the small seller to "delight" the buyers or face suspensions, selling limits and paypal holds...and yet allows their faves to keep providing the bad ebay experience.(and then wonder why buyers are go elsewhere)

Oh right..I forgot...venue..level playing field...blah..blah..blah..

The seller whose history and listings I checked (a Canadian seller - see my post above) wasn't a big volume eBay seller (about 1700). Yet there he was with an already sizeable collection of neutrals and negatives, and from what I could see, some obvious policy infractions as well, shown as a featured seller on the eBay Deals page.

So I'm not sure that eBay's criterion is only that their "Deals" sellers must have large volumes.  I think it's simply that larger statistics can absorb bad practice better and still retain the TRS.  As 'toby' mentioned, some of these sellers aren't even TRS.

It's a bit mind-boggling actually.  You would almost guess, from looking randomly at the sellers on that page, that they were chosen based on negative criteria, as Pierre mentioned.  I could understand it if eBay told us these people were paying big money for the privilege of being included in the programme despite their less-than-stellar reputations, but honestly, is this supposed to be eBay's demonstration of the best of its sellers?  Sorry, I can't purchase that item.

The camera lens that shows up right on the .ca home page looks to be one of the few actual good deals

But how are Canadians supposed to buy it??

"Will ship to Canada. Read item description or contact seller for shipping options."

There is nothing in the descripton about shipping to Canada or anywhjere else outside the usa.  Typical, no one at ebay paying the slightest attention to the canadian buyer experience

Even better, its today only and the seller has fb comments about poor communication so likely impossible for a Canadian to ever but the most prominently promoted deal on ebay,ca

It seems to me someone put this programme together in their sleep and threw it up on the site without proper vetting. Some ideas are good, but the actual implementation can ruin the concept.  This is a good example.
