Is this a new way for combined shipping?

Late on Friday night I was checking "my eBay" and I saw an amount in red for payment not received. I supposed that the email has not arrived.

On Saturday morning, still no email, the buyer had purchases 3 items, but no notifications. I went ahead and changed the shipping cost to the combined rate and sent an invoice to the buyer.

She paid today, but still no emails about the purchases. If this is a new way to do combined shipping, how can we know that the items have been purchased? Has this happened to anyone else?

I have had similar situations, except in my case:
-no emails for the individual items purchased
-I do get a message saying something like "your action is required" advising that I need to send a combined invoice

When I do send the invoice still no item is sold messages for any of them.

It has happened at least a couple times over the last couple weeks or so.

I didn't even get "your action is required", I have no idea how long those sales were there, I couldn't find a date. I am now checking several times a day to see if there are sales I have had no notification for.

Just to be clear the message comes in email and ebay messaging from ebay.

Here is the title: Action needed: Please send buyer total amount due

I got NO messages from eBay at all, just found it by accident when I saw that there was an unpaid item.
