Limiting Buyers with Under 'x' Pieces of Feedback Possible?

Hey guys,

I could swear that there was a way to limit buyers before, setting basically how many pieces of positive feedback they're required to have before bidding/buying. It should be on the 'Buyer Requirements' page, buut it isn't.

The reason I want to now do this, is that the issues I'm now having with newer eBayers is astounding. Latest reasons: not understanding that the COVID-19 pandemic is creating shipping issues worldwide, initiating cases only days after an item was sold by me, leaving negative feedback prematurely, not knowing how to remove feedback when I send a revision request, refusing to remove or edit feedback. These issues have been consistent for the past 15 or so months with people having feedback of about 7 or less.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Your three negs (no neutrals) only bring down your FB score to 99%.

Your Responses were calm and factual.

The only way I can think of to deal with this problem would be to contact every low FB buyer immediately on purchase and tell him how long it might take and ask if that's okay or would he prefer to cancel immediately.

Note that cancelling a paid transaction loses you the fees* you paid to Paypal for handling the transaction.

Is this more an emotional problem for you or are you seeing a dropoff in sales because of the negs?

Are your items being delivered within the eBay deadline?

Have you considered extending your handling time-- stating a five or seven or 30 day handling but shipping within 48 hours?

How would that effect your sales?

FWIW, I bought a DVD from the States today (Mikey Mason has a new album of Firefly filks! Shiny!) and was told by Bandcamp that it could take five weeks to arrive in Canada from the USA.

I literally want to limit these temporarily while the pandemic is going on. There are some pretty thick headed people out there. Still get the same amount of sales with the feedback I've got, as I do put a calm follow-up for all to read if necessary.

There likely isn't a way to do this either, but can I only ship within Canada somehow for all 500+ of my listings, without editing the shipping details in each listing 1 by 1? I'm guessing that's a big no. Its mostly US orders causing issues at the moment.

Lost my job as the whole COVID thing started, so these sales on my personal discs is pretty helpful, but no one seems to understand the shipping delays.

No you can block edit -- do it 10 or 20 at a time to save getting confused (although between the blonde moments and the senior moments this may just be my problem).

Go to My eBay->Selling->Active

Click on as many items as you want to change. If they are all on dotCA this will be easier.

Click on Edit -> Edit Selected

Click on the box top right to Select All

Ckucj -> Edit fields-> Exclude Shipping Locations

Click-> Change->Select Countries or Regions you don't ship to

Save and Close

You should now have all those listings invisible to those searching from those countries.

There is no way to stop lower feedback buyers from purchasing your items and even if you list it as a condition in your listing, you can still get a defect for cancelling a sale unless the buyer has requested it or there is a problem with the address.

Are the problem buyers in the US or Canada? How are you shipping your items to the US......Canada Post small packet or  ??

One thing that I believe helps involves some extra time is that after an item is shipped, I write the buyer thanking them and  letting them know it has shipped and give them an approximate time of arrival and right now I also suggest that it might take longer as mail everywhere is moving slower due to the virus.  The odd person might still open a case before contacting me but I've found that some people will contact me first perhaps because I've made it a bit more personal with the previous message.

You might want to double check the service that you state on your listing for shipping to the US. The first few that I looked at say that you are using 'standard shipping' to the US which is what many US sellers would use and with a 5 day handling time gives an arrival of May 14-21.  Other listings are showing that you 'economy shipping from outside of the US' for an arrival date of May 26 - June 11.  It looks like your last negative did have the longer eta but having a longer one does often help.
