I saw this problem years ago and I notice it still occurs on a wide range of items.
Genres/Item specifics quite often don't match or even show up as a choice for the buyer to choose to narrow down their selection to what they are looking for.
For example in this listing the genre automaticlly chosen by ebay is shown as cooking...
But they don't even use cooking genre as a choice they show for the buyer. The phantom one made up is magic because I guess that word is in the title even though that wasn't even added as a genre when listed. They just grab it from the title and use it as genre. They don't even have cooking as a choice when the buyer views all genres even though I have this and other "cooking" genre books so buyers wouldn't even be able to sort by genre and find "cooking" books. I've tried changing item specifics but nothing ever fixes it.
It also happens with movies and other stuff. For example they have randomly added horror to movies that weren't horror and I couldn't even change it no matter how many times I tried. LOL It's hit and miss whether items will appear in the list the buyer sees when genres or other item specifics are shown and/or selected.
