My experience listing timings vs sales impact

A couple observations regarding listings timing impacting sales.

I've had a couple different styles of listing:

-scheduled listings when I'm not around/home and normally I block them all with the same listing time

-lah de daw listings that go in as I accomplish them. It takes me a half an hour or so to list 10 new items.

Far beyond statistically expected, other items sell whilst I am doing the lah de daw listings, ie I am much more likely to sell other items whilst I am plodding through my daily listings group.

I have not seen a sales impact from the scheduled block listings, so for certain blocking them doesn't seem to have an impact.

I will have to remember to do an experiment the next time I schedule a batch to space them a few minutes apart and see if that does anything.

My experience listing timings vs sales impact

Hmmmm.

This morning, during one of my my normal "lad de daw" listing time periods, 5 items sold to 3 different buyers.

This is great, except I haven't been listing anything at this time today, nothing at all today yet.

This gets me wondering if the sales results are a result of:

-items being newly listed during the time period

OR

-items previously listed during this time period that are soon ending. They are good till cancelled so they are rolling every 30 days

This wondering would also be supported by the lack of sales after the scheduled listing "blast" because it so happens most of those scheduled blasts have been in a "new" time (11:00 ET) that I normally haven't used in the past.

It is always refreshing when one temporarily believes one knows how things work, however it doesn't take long for reality to set back in!!!

It may be critical to end an auction at the right time

I live in Winnipeg, at about the east-west centre of North America,   and used to end auctions at about 8:00 PM Winnipeg time...... Central Standard/Central Daylight Time

For sellers on the  west coast of North America  auctions should end at about 6:00 PM local time, while for sellers on the east coast the end time should be  about 10:00 PM local time.  Bidders were ready to bid....at the end of an auction.... from all parts of North America

This was my perception from the days when we only had auctions on eBay.

All auctions ended on Monday.... atleast for me.... These were 7-day auctions.

Are your fees due at the start or mid-month? My own sales peaks seem to oddly correlate with when my fees are due.

Hiya, my fees are due around the 16th, no sales rushes around that time!

Perhaps just experimenting causes sales, who knows, maybe just like eBay's need to change, Cassini rewards us changing too!! 😉
