Neutral Feedback Left Canceled Transaction...

Hello all... So I was trying to sell a couple GoPro LCD BacPac a few weeks back. So both had sold within a day of putting them up. One sold to a person with 0 feedback which was alright but they wanted me to teach them how to use ebay. Also it was a buyitnow item with instant payment needed. This person wasnt even set up on PayPal properly to close the deal. Anyhow I requested to cancel this transaction so not to waste anymore of my time, the transaction was canceled so that was all good. Last week I get a Neutral feedback from this buyer which I felt was totally wrong! I never sold a thing to this person why would they have the chance to leave feedback. I asked ebay to help me remove the feedback but have yet to hear anything from them. This is a silly policy letting people leave feedbacks from canceled transactions, just burns me cause I worked hard to maintain 100% Positive now I got a Neutral.

Re: Neutral Feedback Left Canceled Transaction...

You can change your site preferences to block buyers who do not have a PayPal account.  That would have prevented this buyer from making a purchase in the first place.  Since he was allowed to make a purchase he has the right to leave feedback reflecting his experience.

The buyer could have refused to cancel the transaction and probably agreed to it because he was new to eBay.  Did you try to work with him to arrange payment or give him some time to properly set up his PayPal account?   I have done this with new buyers in the past.  Sometimes they remember the great service they received and become good repeat customers.

That buyer now has feedback from 11 sellers who did not feel they were "wasting their time" with a newbie.

I am still grateful to the seller who patiently and kindly answered my numerous questions during my first transaction.

Re: Neutral Feedback Left Canceled Transaction...

I tried everything to help this person out, but at the moment I dont not have the brain power to do a lot of explaining. Dealing with chemo brain right now so it was really just the wrong time for this buyer and I to meet. Under better circumstances I would've been more then willing to help. I guess I just assumed that when I used PayPal as the only method of payment that would make the auction PayPal only. I have to admit I might of panicked a little due to recent buyers giving me the run around. Im lucky it wasn't a negative and I will chalk this up as a learning experience.

Thanks for your help.

Cheers!

I think I'm moving over there--ALL of those feedback he purchased 1 day and had them delivered by mail to him the VERY NEXT day!

things that make you go HMMMM---and some of those were "supposidly" bought and paid for BEFORE he purchased this item and claimed he/she did not have paypal and did not know how to pay.

The buyer tried to purchase Decontrol's item on Nov. 26 (not Dec 3 when he left the neutral FB)

The earliest purchase shown in Search by Bidder was on the 25th, but he didn't get feedback for that one until the 28th so may have taken a few days to pay.

The first FB from a seller was received on the 27th, and mentions prompt payment.

So by the day AFTER he tried to buy Decontrol's item, he had figured out how to pay somebody. That payment may or may not have been through PayPal.  Some of the Australian sellers openly encourage bank transfers.

Yes, it looks like this Australian buyer picked a lot of Australian sellers who shipped right away, and his address must be part of the "next day delivery network" that advertises delivery in 1-3 business days. Must be nice.

But they weren't all that fast. Item 370689781270 was purchased Nov. 26.  The buyer left FB on Dec. 4, and the seller reciprocated later that day.

I don't see a problem here, just a newbie who wants to do some shopping and is trying to figure out how things work.

Re: Neutral Feedback Left Canceled Transaction...

Maybe when you take a bigger risk with an item you can have an opinion, it was a complete wash and who's to say I never gave her a chance? I worked VERY hard with her to help her with this sale but it went in one ear and out the other. Im not talking a 5 buck dinky car Im taking a couple hundred bucks that couldve went bye bye. Anyhow youre entitled to your opinon. Cheers!

Re: Neutral Feedback Left Canceled Transaction...

It's all fine and dandy to be new but educate yourself by reading or the forms..

I don't mind answering 1 or 2 questions but that is ebay's job and I am sure they spend tons of money maintaining all the updates and info and support ebay offers...

I love to help anyone but I can only handle so many questions before I start feeling like saying buyer or don't I am not a help line ..

Forums and threads are very good for this but no seller should technically be judged for the lack of knowledge a newbie has...

At the end of the day I work 3-400 hrs a month answer about 100 questions a day for my stores and educating people does not fit into my 5 hrs a sleep I get a day ... I think sellers are here to help but I think there is a point where the buyer should take a deep breath back track and figure things out before jumping into a fire with a tank of gas
