New seller here, funds for a sale are on hold until AUGUST 9?!? What's going on here?

Hi guys, new seller here and my first sales are rolling in and I was first notified that funds would take a month to be deposited... Seemed like quite awhile as shipping is coming out of pocket but I understood the reasoning for the policy.

NOW I have more sales coming in and instead of a month's wait time, it's jumped to 2 and a half months?!?! What exactly is going on here? This seems really unprofessional as I've been following everything that Ebay has been asking of me by the book and positive reviews have already began to come in for me.

Here's a screen shot below. Any help would be greatly appreciated.Screenshot 2025-05-24 at 00-11-00 Order details.png

Hello,

The usual hold for new sellers is approximately 30 days from delivery, with times being longer if they are high ticket items. As you say you understand the reason for holds on new buyers (since anyone could come and sell something they never end up sending otherwise).

Unfortunately with the unknowns of the Canada Post strike eBay have made some changes where they added a month (or more?) to estimated shipping times because of this. I saw some posts here with people unhappy about this added time being a deterrant for buyers.

It looks like you are selling sports cards with an untracked shipping method. If there is no tracking as proof of delivery eBay will use the longest possible time to ensure the item has arrived and the buyer is allowed up to 30 days from receipt to open a claim so that is probably where the extended time comes from.

Even though the buyer leaves positive feedback it doesn't automatically make the wait time less as there doesn't seem to be anything that links that without manually checking. You could reach out to eBay customer service about any items feedback has been left for as proof, but you may have to wait out the time for the others (not everyone leaves feedback).

Also  ear in mind that the date they give is an estimate and you could receive funds before then. If your earlier sales were given the 30 day wait, those will probably still come in at that time, it may just be the newer sales with the extended date (after eBay extended estimated delivery dates for anyone using Canada Post) that have that crazy August 9 date.

It's crazier than usual times here (or anywhere for that matter), for this reason I haven't even been selling here for the past couple of months with all the uncertanties, but if you are starting off during tough times, when the good times come again and you are past your probation period, it will seem like a walk in the park. Good luck.

You are shipping without using a tracked shipping service. And the little ("Make sure you upload your tracking details...") is your "HINT"

That is why you will have to wait longer for your payouts...

No Tracking means more risks for eBay.

@naturelover55  As @msau4301  said, this is likely due to the extended times with the Canada Post job action. The good news is that once eBay gets a track record on you, the payouts should happen much faster. Eventually you should get down to about 2 days.
