I must have missed the elimination of free subtitle for media catalog items that has been there for years. Luckily I did some new ones and didnt bulk relist a bunch as I never would have noticed the .50 each for subtitle. Bet some people get caught spending a fortune

Ya, I was caught off guard by it last night when I re-listed some movies at around 12:05am. But then soon remember they announced this back in Dec 12.
I had become so used to that promotion that I forgot it was a promotion and not the norm.

Can't you get free subtitle if you list on eBay.cafr ?

Thanks for posting this, i was also unaware of the change, would hate to pay the .50 cent subtitle fee for all the media i have listed with a subtitle.

no catalog on cafr so no one is going to list things like that there
I don't really care about the subtitle, rarely used it for anything important. Because its been free for so long lots of people put *something* there they wouldn't ever want to pay for. Its going to be very easy for someone to relist a bunch and not notice

It is not just 50 cents but it is also $1.50 for a fixed price for 30 days. I didn't realize that the free subtitle ends yesterday until I see "$1.55" and went Whoa! and recheck and realized it is no longer free. I just ended some books with subtitles with Good Until Cancelled as I don't want eBay to rollover them and charge me $1.50 for each book in a few days.
I need to be careful and check them every day to make sure I don't get charged $1.50 for each item for subtitle. I am so used to having it for free. Darn eBay!!
I do think having subtitle do help a lot as my buyers said that it was what it attracted seeing more information. Oh well!

" I just ended some books with subtitles"
It would be a lot easier and safer to simply revise your GTC listings and remove the subtitle.

Fees for eBay Media Sellers Jump 3900 Percent on April 1st, No Joke
By Ina Steiner

April 02, 2013
eBay media sellers learned the hard way on Monday that their listing fees increased by as much as 3900% as of April 1st. That's because eBay failed to renew an ongoing promotion that let them list books, music, movies & DVDs and video games for just five cents with free sub-titles.
eBay, which had extended the promotion many times since 2008, did not give sellers any advance warning that the promotion was ending, and some failed to notice the new higher fees. Sellers began reporting April 1st on eBay's discussion board that their fees had jumped:
"Just noticed that my new in-catalog book listings were being charged .20 instead of the normal .05 for insertion fees. Called eBay to learn that the .05 "promotional rate" ended March 31, but would go back into effect May 1 with the new fee structure. How dumb is that! Sorry eBay, you won't be seeing many listings from me this month!"

Ya I got hit with all my GTC Listings... feel like calling but ebay has never helped me with anything so it is a waste of my time .. I will work an extra 3 hrs at work tonight and make back my $100 ...
I think i am going to fade away from ebay but very very very slowly .. not fun anymore.... i figure maybe i will list my hot selling items at crazy prices on ebid and push for it ... convert 1 and let the cookie crumble LOL
Ebay sucks the life out of small guys .. boooooooooooooooooooooooooooo but at the same time the new changes are good for me but I still feel for everyone else..
i say let ebay go corperate then when people start to realize ooooooo wait toy R us has there own website ebay will feel the pain I think anyways.. Unless people like dealing with a middle man for nothing ...
I do not see the cooperate thing working because well How will it .. the best prices you can get from future shop is going direct to source and same for all other big chains so once ebay drives enough traffic to these places what use will they have for ebay ..

Damn it Im the one that started the thread and I just forgot and bulk relisted unsolds with subtitle. I realized it as they were submitting.
Called ebay...first get message that its after hours and closed despite it being 5 hours before its supposed to be
12 min hold time and get someone who understands in surprisingly short order. But my request will be "submitted for approval", an d"if approved" will be refunded in 24-28 hrs. I know others have been told to remove subtitle or end listings, or even been given x minutes to do do but there was no mention of that
Damn shady way to operate
