Paypal shipping or Venture one

I am a small time seller, since last week i noticed changes with paypal shipping, Some services are not available anymore, and the one's that are available is costing me more than before,  So my question is would it cost me less if I were to use my venture card and go ship directly at the post office, I just shipped a .650 gr parcel and it cost me $15.53 air mail. At these rate I will have to stop selling on ebay. Thanks

Even as a small time seller its important to keep up with changes to shipping rates.  The rates went up on January 14 with Canada post and there have been significant changes.  There are several threads on several chat boards discussing the rates and the implications.

Small packet surface mail is only available at the post office and only until early February when it is eliminated completely.  Insurance for all small packet mail is now gone and not available.  A new service called tracked packet is debuting next month.

Venture One discount is 5% on Expedited parcel and Xpresspost. No discount for Light and Small Packet.

PayPal shipping discount is 25% for Expedited Parcel and 8% for Xpresspost Canada And 9% for Xpresspost USA and International. No discount for Light and Small Packet.

So Venture One card is not useful for lower postage rates over PayPal.

Consider using "discount postage" to get postage stamps at 25-35% off face value.  Search these forums for some discussions on how to use discount postage. Google search "discount postage Canada" for at least one seller in Canada. You can also search eBay Canada listings for discount postage.
