Problem with attributes with other languages version of eBay

There's a problem with attributes right now between the english version of eBay and the other languages.

When setting attributes to a product, eBay seems to have created a different version of those attributes completely in the translated version.  They have not linked the different versions of attributes together...

Therefore, the filtering on the english website is not working at all with other languages attributes.

In other words, if you want to fully use the attributes in products and appear in the english version while using filters... it won't work. Unless someone found a workaround to this problem... ?

Can devon@ebay confirm that the translated product attributes are not linked to their english version?

Also, they don't seem to be translated when browsing the english website, on the listing page.

I won't be able to use the french version then, if it's the case, unfortunately.

Do you have an active listing or are they all still works in progress?

I have switched maybe 40 listings from .ca to cafr. The newest listings are on cafr.

I want to analyze the impact of subtitles.

The attributes shows in french, even on the english website. And I cannot find them when using filters on the english website.

It appears eBay is very selective as to what it does or doesn't translate. Even when you toggle French on.

For the actual translation of the attributes, that a more minor problem. The filters is more important I think. Items disappearing using english filter if the item was added in the french version is a big problem for me.

That is why I will continue using the english website for the moment. That's one important way people navigate the website to find exactly what they search for. Not beeing there would make me lose some sales. 😉

 I have a number of books in foreign languages listed. You shouldn't have to do this but is the only work around that I can find. Include the language applicable as a secondary part of your description.  Only if you wanted your buyers to have access to all the details in their choice of languages. In practice they shouldn't need to do the extra legwork with secondary translations.
