Question specific about US bound parcels through Toronto

I saw the "National" news tonight showing the dozens of long trailers of

Canada - bound parcels backlogged.

But when I have sent parcels to the US in the past... they go from here (SW of Toronto) to the MIssissaga plant then to Chicago, takes about a day or two at most to show up on tracking to be in Chicago, whether Tracked Packet or Expedited.

Is this still the case, or are US bound parcels being held for a long time as well? What are you observing on tracking?

Anything I saw before is not relevant now that we’ve reached critical mass.

Question specific about US bound parcels through Toronto

I talked to Canada Post Customer Service this evening and they confirmed that all track-able services have been given priority over regular mail.

All my packages have moved relatively quickly up to this point but as the days go on and the volume increases things will start slowing down to a crawl.

I believe if the Trudeau Government doesn't intervene quickly Canada Post will eventually shut down and lockout it's Postal Workers.

Question specific about US bound parcels through Toronto

There have been two new developments tonight.

One: Canada Post has issued a white flag and says to its commercial customers to expect unpredictable and prolonged delays. Like, don’t mail anything.

Two: Postal workers are now starting to come forward to say they would have voted in favor of the last offer had they been given the chance.
