If someone asks you a question on a listing - it shows up as a big bright red bar in your summery. Is there any way to get rid of the bar without answering the question.

Try this
Go to ... Active ..... listings in the left navigation column in My eBay.
Click on the arrow in the status box....
Click on ... With Questions....
Click on Actions... and click on the ..... Mark as answered ... If I remember correctly

Mark as Answered is a dropdown choice from the more actions menu dropdown (right side of active listing in My ebay)
