Hi All,
I have to refund a buyer for a return. I've never had one before so I'm wondering which bank account eBay will be withdrawing the funds from. My Managed Payments Account or My regular Chequing Account which I make all my purchases from.... ?
Or will eBay give me an option on which account I want to use.
Also will eBay let me use sales funds as part of the refund that there holding because of the Buyer Return?

I believe that if you have available funds in Manage Payments they will take it from there.
If you don't, they used to take it from your chequing account but there have been a few posts in the past year that they are asking you to fund it with a credit card.
I don't know for sure but I don't think they will let you use funds on hold for the refund.

I guess I should clarify... is the refund coming from my chequing account the eBay uses for Managed Payments or my regular chquing account that I use for all my purchases?

When you go to issue a refund it will likely ask you to put a credit card on file.
1. If it doesn't ask that, it will use your manage payments on the ebay site (if you have money in it)
2. It will then use whatever chequing account ebay send money to (this is unlikely since I think it will require a credit card before this stage)

So eBay will use my chequing account that is linked to my Managed Payments first?
I will have to move money around so I'll need this to be clear when I go to refund.

It USED to used the funds on the sit first and then chequing account on file, but the new way recently seems to be a credit card. So not really sure. All you can do is go to issue the refund and before you get to the final step of issuing the refund ebay should mention somewhere along the process where the refunds coming from.
1. Managed payments on the site (if you have funds on the site from a recent sale)
2. Credit card likely / possibly your chequing account
I would move money to that chequing account IN CASE, do you have a credit card? is it linked to your ebay? because that might be required, ebay will inform you when you go to actually issue a refund.

Thanks.... I talked to eBay Customer Service and they said it would be from my Chequing Account linked to my Managed Payments.

That is accurate because that is the only bank account that eBay has authorization to debit at any time. If you use a debit card to pay for purchases (different from MP bank account) eBay is only authorized to debit the funds for that specific payment.
