Refunds/reversals when a buyer cancels an order

Has anyone recently had to cancel an order due to a customer request?

In the past from my experience when this has been required, funds were either pulled from completed funds waiting to be forwarded to bank or directly from my bank account when there was no available balance.

I had a request to cancel this morning because the customer realized they had the item already. The transaction was still showing as pending release because of how recent the transaction was. I cancelled. When I checked log it showed the reversal immediately along with promoted fees. I had heard that the promotional fees can be delayed for the reversal but have had limited experience with this in the past. We shall see how long it takes for the shipping label to be refunding. Its denoting 14 days. (shippo)

It should have been a straight reversal from the get go as I had previously posted/suggested.  Hoping this will be the new procedure going forward?
