Does anyone else have an issue with how this is calculated. I went from below 3% and being a top rated seller and because of a multiple item purchase (which counted 8 times against me) my US late shipment rate went to almost 7%. Because these items were hockey cards .99 or less it was shipped regular post...I mean who in their right mind would pay tracked shipped $15+ on an auction win of less than 7.00? SO to make things affordable for the buyer I get the negative hit.
Ebay says "show us tracking" showing that it arrived on time....I would say "show me that it arrived late"? How can this be so one sided for a seller...let alone one who's ebay "fees" are never less than $700 monthly.
Essentially you can go around saying something arrived late without proof (either way) and the seller always gets the negative repercussion.
By the way my global defect rate is 0 for 752 and US is now 10 for 153
This needs to change as I will not be a seller much longer.

Due to slow/low sales, lost my basic TRS status nearly 2 years and truth be told I am happier for it...no hoops to jump through, and since sales never improved but have dwindled to a sale here and there, once in awhile, from time to time, now and then, occasional, my "above standard" seller status is just fine. Have 80% of my listings moved on to other venues where the occasional sale is now happening, but until there is more consistent sales from the other venues, I continue to list on eBay. However, I really and truly could care less about TRS, discounts or trying to maintain anything beyond my current seller status. I totally ignore the "Have you thought about becoming a Top Rated Seller?" on the seller dashboard. Simply not worth it anymore. I have 2 day handling time and generally ship within 24 hours, yet receive late shipment defects through no fault of my own. I generally sell lower value items for which tracking is a totally unreasonable option...so what to do? I just keep trucking along doing the best I can, giving the best possible customer service I can and hope that I don't get slapped down too many times before I am ready to leave eBay, which will be coming soon. (I will not agree to have eBay manage my money through their Managed Payment System, so when that becomes mandatory for all sellers whether selling on dotCOM or dotCA, I will be gone from eBay).

Upon leaving feedback, the buyer indicates they received their item on time
Is leaving positive feedback in itself an indication that the shipment arrived in accepatable time?
Is not leaving feedback, which is the case in over half of transactions, counted against the seller?
Canada is not the only country where the cost of tracking is much much higher than in the USA.
Hi @femmefan1946 - great question!
The question is asked within the feedback page itself (grainy photo attached), buyers see it if they choose to leave feedback. Leaving positive feedback in and of itself does not provide credit for the on-time-shipping metric.
When there's no tracking information and no buyer response on the delivery feedback question, the transaction isn't included in your shipping metrics.

They increased my handling time because of the Canada Post strike.
The funny thing about that is Tyler is actually in the forums telling sellers to continue selling and eBay will help with lettermail INR claims. I could pull up the exact post if you like.
