For anyone still considering processing parcels to the USA it might be an idea to start including a second copy of shipping label on box and "maybe" even one inside as added protection. All signed. When and if parcels get inspected the 2 parts can get separated. With the de minimus parcels were pre cleared electronically. If inspections start happening mix ups can and do happen.
When shipping a package from Canada to the USA via Canada Post, you typically need one copy of the shipping label affixed to the package itself, and one copy of the customs declaration form (if required) to be included inside the package; however, it's always best to double-check with Canada Post for the most up-to-date information regarding specific shipping requirements and the number of copies needed for your particular situation.
Fedex, UPS, other couriers suggest the following.
Typically, when shipping internationally with a courier, you need three copies of the commercial invoice - one for the exporting country, one for the importing country, and one for the recipient; however, the exact number of copies may vary depending on the courier service and destination country.
I understand it may be awhile before all the official requirements are worked out. Posted only as a suggestion and to prevent the possibility of mixups based on personal shipping experience with several companies that shipped internationally daily.

PS. Anyone else picturing the personal hair pulling that is going on with mail and courier services right now thanks to the wrench that was thrown into the previous working system?

I will additionally add a packing slip with the transaction number and item's description OUTSIDE of the package. Until now, I always did with all international shipments, but never with the US ones. On the shipping label the HS code and the country of provenience should be always added, too.
Concerning the tax: the worst we can expect is that the buyer will pay 25% more. But will it really happen? Who will have time to tax all $10 or $30 items? I doubt it happens. The situation will of course change, if Ebay charges that new tariff automatically, like they charge the state tax now.

This is good advice.
For anything high priced, I usually print out the invoice on a Zebra label and stick it directly on the item as well. So if I package the item in a poly bag, I'll stick it on the bag or in the bag, or if it is bubble wrapped on the outside of the bubble wrap. In the event your item gets lost or separated, it increases the chances that it is returned.
