Using the new eBay AI for creating listings

To anyone in the process of testing the new AI I would use with extreme caution. In creating some listings in vintage currency recently what generated did not match my input with the physical description of the items. It would be a good idea to proof closely before sending to eBay. Same goes for verifying any spelling changes AI has made. In researching recently listed items (in currency) the go to appears to be using AI vs the old fashioned personal knowledge or actual research.  The pattern, if you look, is easy to distinguish between the 2 versions. Also, be careful if you are listing a lot with different condition notes. Very easy to miss a conflict with an eBay "creation".

AI is not intelligent. It just puts words together in ways that have been done before so anything you input is likely to be repeated. More important anything vaguely related to what you input is likely to be repeated.

Using the new eBay AI for creating listings

@reallynicestamps

My main take away was the fact there was info "plooped" into the listing that I never quoted (item specifics) and was entirely inaccurate based on the items image. Maybe a disclaimer should be included stating listings has or hasn't been created using EBAY AI (eBay accountability)? Or included with each sale 1 salt transport truck? Have been doing as a test to see what does get "plooped" out!! Almost a bit of Garbage in, Garbage out courtesy eBay!!! Like the time I attempted to use a UPC for a hardcover book and eBay described(converted) it into an ebook.

If you are going to use AI for product descriptions, its far better to go to the source (Chat GPT) rather than eBay's implementation of it. On eBay it only writes based on the title - if you go to the source you can imput any details you want added or request changes and it will remember the format/changes if you keep using the same chat for future products.
