Hey all,
I just listed an item under 200g and created a shipping policy for Canada Post Expedited Lite.
The shipping cost showing in the listing is $8.02. But I thought the rates below were the actual rates, or are these rates from last year? There's nothing showing above $6.
Toronto to Toronto: CAD 4.96
Toronto to Montreal: CAD 5.58
Toronto to Halifax: CAD 5.69
Toronto to Vancouver: CAD 5.81
Toronto to Yellowknife: CAD 5.85
Thanks for the help

With the Lite option, I never saw anything less than 7$ personnally. It might depend of where you send from and the destination.
Someone ever saw as low as 4.96$ ? I'm curious about it.

Those prices don't include tax or fuel surcharge. The prices generally seem to range between the upper $7 to a little over $10 depending where it's going to. Note that extremely remote regions don't get the good rates though (airstage locations for example). It may cost you well over $20 for those.
If you're using calculated shipping you shouldn't have to worry. If you're using rate tables, you'll have to intelligently pick some numbers and realize that on some orders you'll make a little and on some you'll lose a little.

It is possible to add a Handling Charge, which is not seen by the buyer, to even your odds a little if you are using Flat Rates.

Unfortunately the revised calc. tool does not include tax and fuel. Just confirmed. The rates do change(distance adjust) with a modification to postal code with data entry. Note: Format for the revised tool is 0.20 not .200

Was there reasoning behind the revised calculator for NOT including tax and fuel surcharges in the calculation? The previous tool worked great. New one....not so much.

It always depends on the postal code (from/to). I usually pay 7.50 to 9.50 (tax/fuel included).
Just prepared for shipment - MTL - NB - $8.12.

@lotzofuniquegoodies I tested the shipping calculator out with a few of my recent orders, and it was either dead on or higher by a few cents. It certainly appears to be including tax and fuel surcharge.

I have noticed inconsistencies so didn't want to say 1 way or another. If the request to show a detailed breakdown of charges (tools & eBay labels - see screenshot below) ever happens that would provide some transparency. Giving a template without including applicable subsiduary charges and the tool with the disclaimer are baffling. Plus no way with the tool to add in things like insurance or signature was a downgrade. CP's calculator tool works seamlessly and is 100% reliable with all charges shown.
As I mentioned above the disclaimer stating an estimate only adds to confusion/reliability.

@lotzofuniquegoodies For whatever it's worth, yesterday I tested out ShipStation and discovered that they ALSO do not break tax out. They apparently get a quote from the shipping companies and that price is just a number with no details. It's likely that's the same issue eBay is having regarding tax.
