Why is Ebay charging Provincial sales tax (Ontario) for a seller out of Alberta? There is no sales tax in AB, so my buyer just paid 7% to EBay, but who’s getting that money?

For sales made through digital marketplaces such as eBay, sales taxes are based on the buyer’s location, not the seller’s.

And you will also see your buyer's sales taxes on your payments when they live in California, or New South Wales, or Germany.

We don't pay that tax, but we are charged fees on the total customer payment, which includes those taxes.
