Hi everyone,
I am a new seller and have been a buyer on ebay Canada for 3 years. I want to start selling things on ebay Canada. Over the past two days, I have basically read everything about selling but I am still very confused about a few things. I have questions about linking my chequing account, selling internationally and using ebay labels.
(1) Linking my chequing account to my ebay selling account
I will explain what I do when trying to make the connection. Go to My ebay dropdown menu and click "Selling", which takes me to "Seller Hub". Then in the hub, under "Payments", there is no "Managed Payments" option, which is where you can do the linking.
Do I have to add my bank account as a checkout method under "Payments" in My eBay first? After that, how can I link my chequing account to my ebay selling account?
(2) Selling internationally
I have heard that you need at least 10 feedback points as a seller in order to sell internationally.
Are US customers considered international buyers?
(3) Ebay labels
I have heard from a new ebay seller online that when he purchased ebay labels for his first sale, shipping charges were deducted from his processing funds. When he took the package to a Canada Post office, he was charged again for shipping it. That means, he was charged twice for shipping. It doesn't make any sense. My question is:
If shipping charges are deducted from your processing funds for ebay labels, will you be charged for shipping again by the post office?
Can someone answer my questions so that I can start selling as soon as possible?
I really appreciate your time and help. Thank you.

I do t think they have followed the 10 feedback rule to sell internationally for a long time so you should be ok there. But as a new seller it woukd be best to ship to Canada and the US only for now.
if you have printed a label through eBay you will not have to pay at the post office. I'm not sure what happened in the situation you described.
For linking your chequing account, try clicking on payments in sellers hub and then summary. If you scroll down you will see a section called payment preferences and you may be able to link your accounts there. It's been years since I've had to do that so I'm just guessing.

For Question 2:
US is an international sale. Though shipping options are much better than going to other countries.
Question 3: When you purchase shipping through eBay labels, a label is created which you download, print and affix to your parcel. You then just drop it off at the post office and do not pay any additional amounts. Be sure to have a scale to weigh your parcel, and do accurate measurements of the parcel so that you provide the correct weight and dimensions to eBay labels. When you go to eBay labels it starts out with a default weight and dimensions that have nothing to do with what you are shipping. You must provide the correct inputs for your parcel.
IF someone paid again at the post office, they may not have printed the label, or the had incorrect weight and dimensions and were charged to correct that. If you get it right, you have already paid for shipping and you just drop off the parcel.
For the first question about Managed Payments I have not done that recently so someone else with up to date info may be able to help. You may wish to contact eBay as well.

Re #1
Enter payment information via your Account Settings.
Go to this page: https://www.ebay.ca/uas/selling-pref and then click on Payments (near the top of the list on the left).
Re #2
As @pjcdn2005 stated I haven't heard of anyone having this restriction applied for years
Re #3
I don't print labels via eBay but I have never heard of any problem like this. Users report all sorts of issues that are totally a result of some sort of user error.

#3 -- if you buy the label through ebay (and discounts often make it worthwhile), you print the label, add it to the package and then have it scanned at the post office. Should be no extra charge if done properly.
You can not print an ebay label at the post office.
Do make sure the weights and measurements are correct when buying the label, you may have to pay extra if actual measurements are over the sizes used by the label.
