Hi. I sold a camera lens recently and after a week the buyer has not payed me nor have I heard from him. I have sent him an invoice the day of the sale. I have bought and sold many items on ebay but it's the first time a buyer doesn't pay me on time.
My conundrum is that I was disappointed in the sales price at the end of the auction and since the buyer hasn't payed me, I'm thinking about either keeping the lens or re-listing it. Can I do that ? How long do I have to wait ? Will I be charged selling fees even though the buyer hasn't payed me ?
Thank you.

You can open a non paying bidder dispute in the resolution center. Don't wait. Do it right away. If after 4 days the bidder doesn't respond. You will get your FVF back and will then be able to relist. If this happens, I would also put the delinquent bidder on my blocked bidders list.

About your disappointment in the price.
When you relist, and do wait until the UID has completed, set your opening bid at a price you actually would be comfortable with.
Low prices attract bottom feeders like your deadbeat. People who pay reasonable prices are much easier to deal with.
EBay stupidly encourages sellers to set ridiculously low opening prices on auctions. Don't fall for it. In my opinion, even if you paid nothing for your product, you will lose money if it sells for less than $10USD. Plus shipping. (I have a lot of opinions. Priced at $9.99 each.)

Thanks for your responses. I will open a dispute.

So if I understand correctly, ebay charges the final value fee (to the seller) before the buyer actually pays ?

That is correct and pretty standard everywhere, in most aspects of commerce.
For example, when a manufacturer sells $1,000,000 worth of merchandise to a large retailer and gives the retailer terms of 30 or 60 days to pay, that manufacturer must remit to the government the HST/GST due on the transaction while still waiting to get paid by the buyer (retailer).
And life does go on.....
