eBay is giving sellers in Australia only 4 weeks notice before changing its fee structure, and for many sellers, it's a significant fee increase. For example, casual sellers will be eligible to receive 40 free listings every month instead of the current 30, but final value fees will jump from 7.9% to 9.9%.
And while eBay is increasing the number of free listings for sellers, once they exhaust those each month, the listing fees that kick in may be significantly higher than before the fee change - from 50 cents to $1.50 in some cases.
In the case of casual sellers, listing fees for the 41st listing each month and beyond will change as follows: Fixed Price and Auction listings with a starting price of $100 and under will be $1.50 each, and those with a starting price of over $100 will be $3.50 each.
Previously sellers paid 50 cents for listings with a starting price of under $20.

Maybe it is time I list on ebid again and do some cross promoting...

Looks to me like eBay does not want the little people around any more.

GG, that is what I have been saying. Step up to the plate and get a store. No? Then you are not committed. Pass me the Koolaid.
eBay is splitting up into a caste system. Use the system regularly and you get perks. Use it casually and you pay the freight.
There are lots and lots of worthless sites. They attract sellers because of non-existent fees. Trouble is, they have non-existent customers. Those sites are like dung beetles sifting through the eBay elephant's dung.
Here in Bugtussle, eBay has wiped out the Buy & Sell, stifling CL, twice as many listings as Auto Trader, and they are always a week ahead of the Real Estate News. Spin-off autos and real estate into dedicated Kijiji sites and they will be the ONLY force.

Once you hit the top there is only one way to go ....
If a company wanted to and people wanted to it could change.. ebid is a good example .. They are not giving up and they are growing..
As states sales are horrible but thats when people need to push .. Cross promote, word of mouth ...
like anything in life that is succesful it will only be that way as long as us the consumers allow to be ...

FYI I would never bother doing anything but go until it's pointless and then stop.

How do you figure that? Don't "not so small" & "not small at all" sellers pay fees?
Perhaps there are a few GIANT sellers who can cut a special deal but you won't get those unless you are doing MILLIONS in sales.

Check out Bonanza also. They look interesting.
