eBay.com Automatic relist 3 times for free

I came across this topic in Seller Central on eBay.com. Apparently you can relist automatically for free for three time and it does not count against your monthly limit.  The topic was posted in July 2013 and is still active.  I have a link to a help file on eBay.com also so it appears to be true.

Relisting an item automatically

You can easily set up your listing to relist automatically.

When you relist your item automatically:

  •     Your item is relisted up to 3 times if it doesn't sell.
  •     Each time your item is relisted, the duration of the listing will be the same as the prior listing period for that item.
  •     After the first insertion fee for the listing, you aren't charged additional insertion fees for the relisted item.
  •     Aside from the initial listing, automatically relisted items don't count toward your monthly free-insertion-fee listings. (For example, if you list an item and it automatically relists 3 times, it counts as one free-insertion-fee listing.) Learn more about free-insertion-fee listings.
  •     You're charged the fees for any advanced listing upgrades you selected each time your item is relisted. Learn more about how fees work.

Things to keep in mind:

  •     Automatic relisting isn't available for Good 'til Cancelled listings.
  •     You can automatically relist both auction-style and fixed price listings.
  •     When your item is relisted, it might not appear on the site for several hours after the initial listing ends.

Apparently not on eBay.ca. Maybe bring it up on the weekly session to clarify eBay.ca status.

Anyone know about this? Anyone using it? I never saw an announcement on this in eBay announcements or Seller Updates. Maybe I Missed it.

Seems like an ideal way to list an item for short term initial listing and 3 times after. I always wanted a GTC type duration that ends by itself after a few relists. Supposedly it is for auction or fixed price.

Users of Selling Manager and Selling Manager Pro had automation rules available but these were clunky in my opinion. The big issue was with a Fixed Price listings with quantity. The auto relist would keep the original listing quantity and not keep track of sales and reduce quantity. GTC duration did this for you.

I wonder if this auto relist has this quantity issue.

I am off to read the long eBay discussion on this and do more research. If anyone has experience with this, please share.

eBay.com Automatic relist 3 times for free

I read the eBay discussion topic and it is confusing. Apparently it is invite only and only until Dec 31, 2013. But why in a help file.  I will have to research some more. If anyone understands this, please post.

I will have to try a listing on eBay.com and see what it shows me.

I tried using Sell Similar and I tried creating a listing from the Sell Page from scratch on eBay.com. I do not see the Relist 3 times option.

I do have free eBay Selling Manager basic installed on eBay.com and eBay.ca. I wonder if that is preventing me from having the free automatic relist.

It does seem to be a free promo offer for this 3 relist free offer. By invite only.

What I do not understand is why the eBay help file on eBay.com has this feature added yet it is not available to all.  Confusing.
