Many retail outlets will be open and accepting mail.

but nothing is going anywhere, as CPC are not working, nothing is getting picked up. that was the point of the post, stuff isnt going anywhere and accordingly, Ebay needs to add this to the list of national holidays for our country so to adjust their defaults so we as sellers dont get dinged for late shipments because we cant ship, like they do for every other stat holiday.

Tomorrow is Truth and Reconciliation Day- a new federal holiday to contemplate the relationship between the indigenous peoples of Turtle Island and settlers.
The day has been an informal time of mourning for some years, often called Orange Shirt Day.
https://www.orangeshirtday.org/phyllis-story.html
Specifically this federal holiday remembers the children lost to the residential school system and became a national story when 215 unmarked graves of children were discovered at the (closed) residential school in Kamloops BC earlier this year.
It will also be a postal holiday.
If you could send around a memo it would be appreciated.
There are a few similarities to your Juneteenth, but much less happy.

Are Shopper's outlet's open? They usually close the postal outlet when Canada Post has a holiday, even though the store is open.

In principle does eBay go by date label is created or first scan at post office? I ship regularly with US Small Packet Air USA/Intl and those don't really ever get officially scanned(as far as ebay is concerned) until they reach a country. System does not seem to be considering those as late. Even had Canadian stuff take several days to appear in CP when the clerk scanned at my depot.

PS. As a side note, anything letter is considered shipped as soon as seller says it is.

They go by the first scan when an item has tracking.
If a package is scanned within the seller's handling time OR scanned as delivered within the handling time then it is not considered late. I would have thought that if a small packet wasn't scanned until it was in the US and then was scanned as delivered after the estimated delivery time, that it would be considered late. Have you had a small packet arrive after the est. delivery time but it still didn't receive a late ding?

US Small Packet Air usually arrive within standards. As for dings get a note every month advising me if dings have been removed but DOES NOT SPECIFY which shipments are involved. As for lates there is limited a seller can do other than cross fingers and hope. Tracked is not an option for low value items.
For Intl Small Packet Air for me, those have been few and far between lately. Any hold ups are most likely being caused by VAT customs delays which are TOTALLY out of the control of sellers. It even states clearly on EU Postal Systems (UK/Denmark/Sweden etc) websites....Expect dalays in processing. Until eBay acknowledges this as a thing sellers will be at postal systems mercy. For ALL international services.

PS. Dings in a customers eyes can be caused by many factors. Miss clicks, moody customers, 1 day late. The list goes on.
