when one is working on your listings fixing ,adding, reprising, etc can you receive a sale at the same time - i read in different forum that one cannot but i think they are wrong- i have never received a sale while iam working on my listings but i wonder if any one else has
if one cannot that could explain why so little sales cause iam on my listings most of the day now converting them and i have never gotten a sale while doing so most of my sales come at night when iam sleep or doing other things- any insight would be helpful

I don't see how sales COULD be affected. It takes time for search engines to pick up and drop listings. If someone clicked on one that's promoted externally, I can't see eBay putting up a notice that said "sorry, you can't buy this item right now as the seller is listing other items". I also can't see them internally excluding people while they're active. The algorithms apparently strongly favour activity.

I don't think you could receive a sale while you are in the middle of revising/editing/setting a new listing up. You many have sales on some of your other items you have going but I don't think on anything you are changing/revising (what info would be attached? new or old?!)
I do know what you mean about sales activity while you are asleep, sometimes it may seem this way but I know in my case at least sometimes this is just people in different time zones purchasing (or the night owls, of which I am not!). However, got to love waking up and seeing "Your item has sold" but I think it is mostly coincidence or like I say, sometimes a time zone thing. I know there is usually at least a couple of hours lag between when I post something and it gets any views/watchers or activity.

It'a my understanding that while you are revising a live listing, it will not be visible.
In fact, we often warn newbies that just as a new listing can take 24 hours to "index" and appear, a revised listing may not appear again for some time.
