APO US Army Base address - anyone shipped to one before?

We recently sent out a package to an APO address using CP Xpresspost...usual delivery time is approx. 5 business days - this one came back at 17?
Anyone have any experience (good, probably bad) shipping to an APO?

I ship to APO addresses regularly without any problem. .

Yes, the delivery time is longer, but it gets there eventually.

No worries; those boys and girls over there tend to have more on their plate than eBay changes and PayPal protection plans.

Sending it Expresspost is a waste of money, it won't reach there in 5 days. Try sending it Expedited (same price as regular parcel), it'll be there in 2 weeks but not more than 3!

I realize that, which is why I stated it would take 17 days - would have been over a month using Expedited.

You'd better use Xpresspost to APO. Otherwise it may take more than 1 month to arrive if you use Canadapost "Expedited" USA.

During the almost 7-1/2 years that I've sold on eBay, I've sent to APO Boxes. I've not had any buyers experience any lengthy delays in receiving their envelopes or packages when sent via Standard, Other Letter, Small Packet or Expedited. It's a service that is offered to military personal and their families living abroad.

Expedited is SURFACE shipping and takes a long time to get to a border state as well as an APO. Most definitely the category has been misnamed by Canada Post which always requires an explanation to the buyer!

APO's are safe!

I've shipped to APO address's quite a few times as well with no problems at all. Because I sell jewelry I just send it Canada Post small packets airmail and it gets there within 2 weeks. So far I've never had any complaints in shipping to my USA APO customers. They've all been very happy with the shipping process. Just thought I would state my positive experiences when shipping to APO address's! 🙂

However- we have shipped to a SUBMARINE- and once, very recently, to the NORTH POLE!

If shipping to a SUBMARINE and the NORTH POLE aren't a problem- how difficult can shipping to an APO address be?
