Oh my goodness no!
Think about your worst seller. Think about what that loser would have to say about you (totally false of course) if he HAD to leave feedback.
And if you have hours to waste go to the website Not Always Right, and hear what retail workers really think of their customers.
Feedback is voluntary.
And for buyers, who can only get positive feedback in any case, it is only useful as egoboo.
And as that great modern philosopher,Nicole Scherzinger, has said, "Be careful what you ask for, cause you just might get it."

"Are fewer people posting feed backs,
It appears to be marginally so
and if so what can be done? "
Nothing.
Feedback is not as important as it used to be. It was created twenty years ago when individuals were not used to buy online. Today, ecommerce is a fact of life.

I have 7 sellers since mid December that haven't bothered to leave feedback.
It's a missed opportunity...
A simple thank-you doesn't take much effort.
Obviously, they don't appreciate my patronage, so I spend my money elsewhere.
I have 52 buyers since beginning December that haven't bothered to leave feedback.
That's fine... I got paid, did my PR, and moved on.
I firmly believe in the saying,"Careful what you wish for".

Ebay feedback is a complete joke now anyway. Ebay just removes negative feedback if the person complains and sellers aren't even allowed to leave negative feedback even if the buyer doesnt pay. Complete joke

The joke is on the deadbeat buyer.
When a seller instead of whining in a feedback that no one will ever read takes action and files an Unpaid Item Dispute, not only does she get her FVF back, but the deadbeat gets a Strike that makes it harder to bid on eBay in future.
In addition, all other sellers who have set our Seller Preferences to automatically block bidders with deadbeat Strikes are protected by the sellers who took action. ('hums a chorus of Solidarity Forever*)
And the deadbeat doesn't even know about the Block until he tries to bid .
Mwahahahahah!
