So, I've got a situation that I'm not quite sure what else to do, and hoping someone else has had a similar issue and worked through it.
A buyer ordered an iPod Skin Kit on October 7th ($11.24 with HST), which we shipped right away. On Oct 13th he emailed saying that they wanted to return the item as it was for an iPod Touch 4G, and they had a 3G. I let them know that it wasn't a problem, just mail it back and as soon as I receive it, I'll post the refund.
Received the item October 22nd, and refunded the full amount ($11.24) the same day via PayPal. Nov 3rd I get an eBay message asking where his refund is. I informed him we refunded hi on Oct 22nd, and to check his PayPal account. No response until today...
This morning, I wake to an eBay message from the buyer: "Hey its *******, I have returned the but you never gave me back a full refund 9.95 give me back 8$ and the deal is done if not nagetive feedback in three days". So, I look up his transaction and past messages, both eBay and PayPal show a full refund given. The PayPal transaction shows his payment on Oct 7th, and the full refund of $11.24 Oct 22.
Now, there are a few issues that stand out to me. First being that he only mentions paying $9.95, not $11.42, which is what the order came to with HST. The other is the fact that he contacted me a week after I refunded him claiming I hadn't. When I called the phone number in his contact info, the person that answered was not eager to let me talk to the buyer, nor leave a message. Didn't help that there was a language barrier.
So, I've responded to his eBay message outlining the refund and followed up with an email directly to him that included a printout of the PayPal transaction showing the purchase and refund.
Should I be reporting this to eBay as possible Feedback extortion? It appears to me he wants me to send him more money - a whole $1.95? Just not sure what to do here.
