Buyer sent message through paypal email address instead through ebay

Recently I found many buyers message me through my paypal email adress instead of my ebay message.

Some I got it because their email go to inbox, but I didn't aware with some of them which go to junk mail.

Just notice today when my hand drive me to click junk mail, there was an email from newbie regarding $160 transaction. She asked me to send her order to UK instead to Japan which she confirmed when she made payment.

Too late to get alert.... I sent her items last week. I don't know how this will end.

I guess I have to make sure that $160 to stay in my paypal account.

I never protect myself with insurance, and always send with air mail which have no insurance coverage rightnow, but I am not ready with this kind of thing.

I noticed sellers doing that to avoid the ding in the communication stars – as long as you do not message each other via eBay the system automatically gives your seller 5 stars.  

You should know better to ship anywhere else but the confirmed address.

Since most sellers have a minimum of 4.9% in communication, it doesn't make a lot of sense to me to worry about getting an automatic 5. I would rather communicate with my customers.

Anyway, in the OP's situation, it was a buyer that sent the email. Most buyers are not aware of the automatic 5.

OP, I guess all you can do is wait. Have you told your buyer?  Chances are that they know who lives at the original address and perhaps they can have the item forwarded to the UK.

I did reply my buyer email before I posted here yesterday. Good news I got her reply this morning she understood my situation and told me she just received my package in Japan.

All good.... and I could withdraw my $160 from my paypal yippie.....

Adela_b: I know we must always to ship everything to paypal confirmed address, but since I always send my items by air mail without delivery confirmation, I never entitle for paypal seller protection, so many times I accommodate buyer request tosend to different address.

In my category, majority buyer are great & honest. Only very very few of them were not good and made me down in the beginning of my ebay.

I am in the same boat with pjdn, I rather communicate with my buyer through ebay message system. Here one of the reason. I didn't notice they try to contact me because their mail went to junk mail instead inbox,
