I often will layer stamps.

As long as the word Canada and the worth of the stamp i.e. 20 cents, is visible. This is not always easy so you have to look carefully. I sort my  stamps first in value then size then location of the printed value (top or bottom). My stamps go neatly down the right side and across the top. If this doesn't work for you then I would up the envelope size. It would be worth it if you're using discount postage. I have got $10 to $12 + on an envelope without problem - unless of course, you are using just 6 cents stamps or something. I also use a small glue stick if any corners come up.

I don't think a postie would ever check the back unless it was to check for a return address..

Some people make the parcel as small as possible. I make it larger as long as I am under my weight limit. If you can, Brandee, make the parcel larger and that gives you room for stamps.

I have put stamps on the back often. I attach a small sticker saying more stamps on the back.

Even just adding the words "Turn over" can be useful.

Parcels completely covered in stamps are fun. I have one in the basement with sheets of stamps on five sides. DH can't bear to toss it, it is not collectible, and it is useful to hold newspapers for the bi-weekly pickup.

I have done it since the price increases with no trouble. I write "more stamps on back" in pencil with a little arrow.

I often put plate blocks and other nice stamps that take more room, but as my buyers are stamp collectors, it is my bonus to them.

How to lick eighty-five (85) one cent stamps in the front of an envelope to cover the current $0.85 rate for first class mail within Canada.:

Re: Can I put stamps on back of lettermail

Awesome guys thanks ... I will just layer them on the front that will work just fine ...

I am only asking because I want to get rid of my 10-17 cents stamps and after the last 4 boxes of 600 stamps a box I do not every want to do that again .. It was fun but it took me like 6 hr to package and stamp 4 huge boxes ....

They say not to tape stamps on but I have for a month now and they are going through just fine ...

I can not lick the stamps it just something about glue from 20 years ago that I am not cool with LOL ... Was thinking about starting to glue them but I have to find away to make this is easy and painless as possible in order for the Time VS Saving to work out ...

I save roughly 25% with stamps but I can save roughly 12% by just have the postal work do the metered mail thing instead of stamps so my time and effort can not exceed 13% which means I can not spend more then roughly 1 minutes per item putting stamps on unless I am talking BIG PARCELS  but 13% of $1.80 is only 23 cents so 23 cents time wise is actually less then a minute as I base my time on my rate at my actual job which is $36 an hr which is 60 cents a minute  ...

Anyways thanks everyone your answers were really helpful ....

Staples sells products for wetting stamps and envelope flaps.

I have not used any of them but have looked at them when I dropped by a Staples store. I am thinking of trying the water bottle with sponge as it seems simple.

Re: Can I put stamps on back of lettermail

My wife helped me one day with stamps and she used Water with a small paint brush and took alot of time to do and alot of them fell off and scored me alot of neutral and messages ...

I think I may just find a quick and easy way to glue but will give oone of those items from staples a go at it ..

Look at this

http://www.staples.ca/en/Quality-Park-DabnSeal-Envelope-Moistener/product_961078_2-CA_1_20001

It is light glue to add to envelope flap as well as moisten.

They have a 12 pack here

http://www.staples.ca/en/Quality-Park-Dab-n-Seal-Envelope-Moistener/product_649920_2-CA_1_20001

I first saw this at my wife's office as they use it to wet envelope flaps with it. They use permanent stamps self sticking for their mail.

On other sites they say one bottle does 1500 envelopes. So I would assume that you can do as many stamps. Assuming that the product actually does 1500 envelopes.

Re: Can I put stamps on back of lettermail

That is exactly what I was just checking out .. I think I will give that stuff a test run ... I tried licking them but o man can you say puke after about 50 stamps...

I either going to use those ones you put on last post of just find a cheap glue but that one in the link looks to be my best bet ...

I don't want to keep taping them because eventually something is gonna go wrong ...

At 17¢ a minute, your minimum wage labour, how much did you save?

I spend money to eliminate bottlenecks. Removing bottlenecks improves efficiency.
