Can I sell a personalized Ontario license plate that I no longer want?

I have a license plate to sell. I bought it on a whim but no longer want it and I'm sure someone else will. I just need to transfer ownership to the buyer. Ebay says no current licence plates can be sold but I haven't even put the plates on. I just have the ownership.

Will this be a problem?

Licence plates have to be at least three years old and not resemble current licence plates.

No you can't sell them here.

They are current.
