CanadaPOST New Year Cash Grab - More $$$ for Crappy Service

Give me a break - this lame excuse for a business is actually increasing prices - so they expect us to pay even more for their lousey, pathetic, slower-than-a-mule driven cart delivery service.

I guess its time to bend-over again as CanadaPOST puts it to us once more.

I hope this is a bad dream.

Not that I am thrilled by new CP prices, but seeing the pattern from few last year, this was to be expected.

Perhaps time for Canpar to offer some new services, so we see some real competition. Or increase the sales and get a discount pricing with courier. YvesRocher can send 4lb by UPS from Quebec to Ontario for $6 and Digi-Key can get next day service from USA for flat rate $8 with Purolator (my guestimate of their Canadian shipping volume is way over 1000 a day).

For pathetic looser like myself with average 5 pkgs a day CP is still the best game in town 😉

Actually, I find the postage reasonable, and the service excellent. Everything goes up, but I have no complaints about Canada Post.

I find Canada Post Great, so do my customers. Small packages to France only take 5 days....one customer of mine keeps reminding me of the great job Canada Post does. I have not complaints.

The only problem I have with Canada Post is the "missing parcels". They lose at least one parcel a month on me. I suspect there is some thievery going on which is not really Canada Post but its choice of employees or supervision.

Something not right...in 30 years of mail order Canada Post has only lost one package out of many many thousands. A few more have been lost by postal authorities in other countries but I don't blame Canada Post for that.

Hey Judy~ Thanks! You've brightened my day with your nice comment about my work. It's been so wet and cold and frosty here, and I do almost all my work outside without any heat, so it's been tough. It will be a little easier, thanks to reading your thoughts on my work.

Renee, I agree with recped. I've shipped Canada Post for eight years, and not one single item has ever been lost. Perhaps look at how you are putting the addresses on? I would think CP would investigate, if you are putting in an insurance claim for each of those (and I sure hope you are!).

I have only had 2 packages lost this year, but about 8 - 9 packages damaged this year (all claimed the insurance).

As well I ship about 100 packages a week. Thanks.

So far so good . Outta 1400 Packages last month only 3 failed to show .

Not gonna like the basicly 8% price increase on packages .

Canada post isnt to bad not as good as Usps .
