Canadapost question Small packets Charged Ground Rate instead of Air rate

Hi, today I went to my normal drop off (Home Hardware). They are very busy there and I dropped off about 20 small packages. Some were Air Mail and some were Ground Mail (2) to the USA. I paid her out, but she did not have time to put the stickers on each package (The Canadapost price stickers). So I left thinking that everything was cool as usual. I check my receipt last night and she charged me 6 Ground Mail instead of Air Mail (3.35 instead of 5.05) instead of 2 ground mails. Now my customers have paid me the Air Mail shipping and I put at least 3-5 little blue Air Mail stickers on my packages (on the front) as it helps the sorting process I have been told.

My question is this :"Will these go Ground Mail? or will they still go Air Mail?" Will the post office incur the charges as they did not charge the right amount for Air Mail service and my package will still go in as Air Mail as my stickers are under the Packing Clear tape or will they go Ground Mail? How long does it take a GROUND package VS Air Mail package in USA? Air Mail is usually 3-7 working days.

I don't think that I should be liable for this mistake?
thanks

By my experience, most likely those with Air Mail labels will be sent by Air Mail. The Canada Post Staff only look at the most visible labels. Once I put 2 different addresses on a single parcel (to different states in US), one is the large label printed on a white sheet, one is printed on the waybill (very clear but small) which is wrong. I called them and they told me it would be sent to either one. Finally it was sent to the right address which is on the white sheet. I don't think they will check the price on the parcels.

if there is an airmail sticker, it will go airmail.
if there is an audit at your local hub, it will go ground because postal inspectors WILL check the stamp; the sorters won't. Good luck.

It takes 3 weeks for a small packet to reach almost every destination in the US by ground.

Does anyone know what happened to those small paper FRAGILE stickers that came attached in a strip of ten?
The NEW HUGE FRAGILE labels, in an 8.5x11" sheet format add considerable weight to an envelope.
Has anyone realized that simply applying the CORRECT Post Office provided indicia can tip the weight over the 30g point to the up to 50g weight.
So- in the end YOU end up paying for doing things the CORRECT way.

HOWEVER- I have always understood that there is 1g allowance over the 30g weight. So, actually a 31g envelope SHOULD travel at the 30g weight.

Does anyone know where in the Postal Act this rule/regulation may exist?
Is it a relic of the past? Like attaching uncanceled stamps to a sheet for redemption when the postal rates increased?
