Canadian Seller Pack Cancelled!

am i the only one that's NOT surprised they cancelled the Seller Pack?
i wonder now if they'll give us the credits for the month we paid for or if they'll just give us our 50 bucks back.

They are planning to honour their commitment until December 31st. I would have appreciated some explanation as to why it was cancelled. Maybe that will come yet.

I switched our thousands of listings to Gallery with this -- they better darn well credit me for those -- not the $50.00. It cost my business $1500 extra to pay for these gallery upgrades.

so Mr. Jordan Banks provided an answer for us today on the Canada Town Square discussion board.
here is his answer:

"Re Seller Pack:

For those of you who don't know much about our Seller Pack offering, just a little background: the Seller Pack provided unlimited use of Gallery and Research Pro for a monthly subscription fee. We launched the Seller Pack as a test in Nov and have discontinued the offering effective Jan 1st.

Why did we cancel it? Essentially (and much to my surprise), we didn't receive the type of interest/number of subscriptions we had expected in order to make the offer viable. Not sure why but that's what happened. Given how politically charged this offering was with various sellers from around the world, our business case to continue the offering fell apart when we did not experience the adoption we needed.

Having said that, we are still as committed as ever to continue testing a variety of different pricing promotions and we welcome your suggestions in this regard."

Jordan i, and i'm sure a lot of other people are very disappointed with your dishonest answer.
this is VERY insulting to my intelligence.
do you really expect us to believe that this was cancelled because there wasn't enough interest?....THAT DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE..!!!!
Furthermore, how can you possibly make that kind of conclusion after not even one month???

US sellers complained. .com listend and slapped the hand of .ca. .ca listened to .com. 😐 That's my read on it.

Exactly. What kind of business does a little-advertised promotion, tries it for LESS than one month before cancelling it?

I'm extremely upset, once again, with the lack of support from eBay the company.

Especially considering you had to sign up the previous month to qualify for the coming month. You couldn't sign up in the current month to participate in the promo. Total and utter bullchips!!

I read about sellers waiting for the guinea pigs to report how or if it helped their sales before signing up for it. fffft I'm sure interest would have grown if given the chance. But all of this only proves to me that .com ordered .ca to cut it out.

I've often said that .ca is the ineffectual little brother to .com but wow. :(

i absolutely don't believe for a second that there was a lack of interest. IMO there was probably a HUGE interest.
why wouldn't there be?? they probably had this planned right from the beginning. get people on board using gallery...they'll get used to it and then take it away...then they'll keep using it even though they have to pay....

I received my intro. email about Seller Pack Oct. 25th. It didn't leave much time to think about signing up, as you had to be signed up before November started. Only the people who signed up in those 5 days have been able to take advantage of it for November. How many could that be? How are they presuming no interest? How have they promoted it? How many Canadians knew it existed?

I believe that .com did have a bit to do with it being canceled. However, I strongly believe that they only wanted a few to sign up so that they could better monitor it. And in so doing, they discovered that even though there were more listings and gallery, the Sales were not there to provide them with the Final Value Fees they wanted.
Or, it was a ploy to get us to list and use gallery until it was a habit we couldn't break, therefore an investment in the future for ebay.
