Is this possible?

Account A uses email address x, changes to y.
Account B uses email address z, changes to x, after A has changed to y.

In other words, can an email address that was previously used on an eBay account but is no longer tied to any eBay account be reused on a different eBay account?

Hi 2noggins,

 

You should be ok - granted 30 days has passed since the change before trying to associate it with another account.

Are we any closer in getting GST/HST & PST fees broken out of the Import Charges total in GSP invoices. Some of us need to be able to claim those fees.

Of all the things I have lost if life, it is my mind I miss the most.

 

Any chance that eBay Live or eBay On Location will be revived?  The "meet-ups", well, not anywhere near the same. Otherwise I will aim for Radio Party in June.

As far as I know, yes. Changes to both email addresses & User IDs usually take 30 days before the old one is released. Great question for Customer Support so they can verify, but as far as I'm aware, this is the case.

Nothing concrete's been planned for Canada, but internally, the subject's floated around a couple of times... If/when we're able to fully commit to something like this, we'll definitely let the Community know.

I recently ran into problems with shipping to Chile and Mexico. Lost $180 because of phoney INR. Paypal shipping states that I must ship to the provided address for seller protection, yet I cannot get a tracking number, not that I would pay that much anyway.

 

I am getting advice from Canad Post not to ship to these countries at all because of this. This situation is well known at CP.

 

eBay allows these countries to buy, yet does not cover me when I ship.

 

What is eBay going to do for me, telling me to ship to the address for seller protection, then turning around and saying that they will not provide a tracking and I am on my own?

 

Similar problem with Israel.

I understood Ben was employed by eBay,com, not eBay.ca.  Did I misunderstand?

 

Unless someone lives in Canada and experiences the GST/HST/PST daily, it would be most difficult to understand the problem, let alone answer the question.

Right, Ben is a .com employee, but the question was regarding getting a breakdown of the fees, which he's brought up and we're looking into this. Since we've seen this request more than a few times already, he understands the importance of this & is seeing what can be done.

Am I correct that invoices which show collection of GST/HST & PST are required to show the GST/HST# of the entity who is collecting the taxes?

 

Tracking of shipments in the GSP also leaves a lot to be desired. The tracking IDs email to the buyer are not clickable nor are they identified on the eBay screen. As well the eBay tracking system takes days to update tracking information when the pkg is enroute to the KY center. 

 

When the package leaves the KY there is no tracking available until the package reaches a Canada Post system. You have no idea if the package has been lost or if its progressing through the system until it shows up in the CP system.

I'm not entirely sure on the GST/HST# comment - but I do know that these conversations are happening within the GSP team. Let's please use the appropriate threads for these questions and comments so that team is aware of them.

While I am here I have a question about the GSP program. If an item was not marked as being received in a damaged state on the first leg of the shipping to the KY center but I receive the item in a damaged condition do I receive all of the funds paid including the shipping and Custom charges including PST/GST? 

 

In this case am I also obligated to send at my expense the item back to the seller?
