The city of Stratford, Ontario is hosting the annual Docs on Ice hockey tournament this weekend. There are about 800 doctors in our fair city this weekend so it's the place to go if you get sick!
The event is utilizing rink surfaces in Stratford as well as the nearby towns of St. Mary's and Tavistock today and tomorrow. It was organized by our family physician and DH is the arena captain (head honcho) at the Tavistock arena. He is a former OHA official and is thrilled to be involved with the tournament. Presently he is attending the Friday night banquet for the doctors and arena captains.
The doctors come from all over Ontario but there is also a team from Austria which travelled here for the occasion. The event has become a fundraiser and, this year, the Lung Association will receive the proceeds.
