Fees discrepancy on items

I don't understand something... I sold an item (video game console) for 299.99$ the fees were of 16.31$... Then yesterday, I sold an item (another video game console) at 240.00$ and the fees are of 24.57$... why?

BTW, both item were Free Shipping, both sold to the same person.

Hi bryan-55.. ebays new fee structure beginning Apr. 16 flat 10% for non store..

Thank you heidilynn0_3 it makes sense! But wow, those fees are terrible! I'll sell most of my stuff elsewhere and use eBay only for really "specialized" stuff.
