I bought a car CDMP3 player for my son for Christmas. The installer (who my son paid $100.00 to instal) said it is broken and he could not get it to work). The seller does not answer emails (I am not the only one apparently). I filed a Paypal complaint which is under investigation. I also wrote ebay and got an email today with options. I don't think I am covered under Protection Claim. The other options are Fraud Alert and Square Trade. Is one better or should I go for both. In the meantime, I have the box with the player here. Should I ship it back or wait until I hear from someone? Thank you.
Karen.
I just wrote on another thread about my experiences with Square Trade.
In a nutshell, for $20 it is money well spent to go through them. They can do more in getting eBay and PayPal do move than going directly to PayPal or eBay.
Fraud Alert may be a bit complicated as there could be blame thrown back on your installer by the vendor and then you will have the burden of proof of where and when the unit became damaged.
What about filing an insurance claim for damage in transit? Is it possible that the electronics were damaged USPS or UPS or Fedex when shipped to you?
Karen - Malcolm is right on the money, as usual. Go for the ST. I'm sure your options will be better suited to your particular problem that just doing the fraud alert thingy.
