I have noticed a lot of people are ticked off about global shipping and I even noticed a few yahoos defending GSP!!!! If your defending GSP then you are also in on the scam. Is it fair that the entire purpose of buying on eBay is to get good deals because realistically you can get all the same things in your own home town as you can in other places but most of it boils down to the cost. My last 3 purchases in the U.S. the seller has used GSP. I will as of when I get my order will NEVER USE IT AGAIN! And this isn't a "RANT" this is a loyal, long time eBay customer that has been using eBay from the very get go. And I loved eBay and still do.
Is it fair that I buy an item, pay the $14 CAD for shipping but then, I get another charge for $28.98 CAD for an item that now will take even longer than it would have before!
For the ones defending
GSP (Global Shipping Program) you guys just don't give a **bleep** about your customers that's why your defending it. GSP only "if a parcel is lost" will actually pay for the loss to the seller and to the buyer. It protects the seller ONLY that's why they use it. And don't tell me different because even eBay reps themselves have told me that. And they get constant complaints about it.
The funny thing is it's actually cheaper to use a COURIER like UPS, FEDEX, PUROLATOR, etc.
I convinced another seller to courier and I paid only $22!!!! for very NEXT DAY DELIVERY! To CANADA!!!!
And I ordered from the exact same city from another seller and all together with the GSP and the sellers shipping $43!!!!! $43.00!!!!!!!
And now I've got to wait 10 days!!!!! I actually have to wait 9 days longer for something I paid more for!!!
GSP is GARBAGE! Anyone that defends GSP is a straight up 80's car salesmen con artist!
I asked the seller if he'd use a courier and he said no. Why? Cause he made more money by scamming me with GSP. My advice to you coming from a veteran eBay user, seller and a buyer.
DO NOT USE GLOBAL SHIPPING IT IS EXPENSIVE AND TAKES WAY LONGER!
You would actually be better off to buy from someone that just drops it in the mailbox.
Anyway call this is a rant if you want. But a rant is not someone stating facts!
Pros and cons to using global shipping (For the buyer)
The cons drastically out weigh the pros by 100%.
It only benefits the seller and is a nitemare for the buyer. And I officially am done with any seller that uses GSP, because with the shipping and now the extended time it takes its actually cheaper for me to just buy locally.
Good job eBay you've literally wrecked the exciting eBay experience and I will now be buying from another well known online shopping place that rhymes with "AND-ITS-GONE" 😉 Thank you for making this the easiest decision I've ever had to make.
Cost and BS vs better cost and less BS.
SIMPLE CHOICE.
