I bought an item by accident, because I am new to ebay and not really good at reading English. The item now is waiting to be paid , is there a way I can cancel it?

Hi...
How can I cancel a bought item that waiting to be paid?
You can not cancel it, ONLY the seller can let you off the hook and they must agree to do a "Mutual Cancellation".
Contact the seller and plea for mercy, if they are not willing to cancel it then the best option is to go ahead and pay for the item.
You could resale it back on ebay if you wish and there is a possibility that you could recover your money back or even make more money on selling the item.
I bought an item by accident
There is NO WAY that a item can be bought by "accident", there is a series of steps (pages) to go through and the last step is to "Confirm".
Salut ...

Hello 'ash',
I say, for someone who claims to be "not really good at reading English", you are exceptionally good at writing it. Better than most unilingual Anglos. No matter, once you click to buy an item, or win an auction, you cannot cancel it yourself. You must ask the seller to do it for you.
If the seller does not agree, you could end up with an Unpaid Item strike on your record. Most sellers block nonpayers, so get a second of those and you will find there is little you can access for the next year until the strikes wear off. This link will tell you more about that:
http://pages.ebay.ca/help/buy/questions/unpaid-item.html
However, as most sellers will agree to cancel simply because it is quickest and easiest, your seller will probably do it. When the Request for Cancellation shows up in your ebay messages, be sure to click to respond and click to accept. Then you will no longer be expected to pay and it's all over.
In future when you see an item you like, just below the 'buy' button it says Add to Watch list. Click that instead. Doing so will store the item details in your personal Watch List file which you can access from the left side of the page or the top under My eBay. That way, you can take your time deciding and only buy when you are ready to follow through with payment.
And it would be remiss of me to neglect to point out the following, -- If at any time you do not fully understand the meaning of a word enscribed on a button, do not click it until you do. That is if, in spite of your manifest facility with English, the concepts of 'Buy it now', 'Commit to buy', and 'Place bid' are unfamiliar to you, perhaps you ought to apprise yourself of their meanings before continuing on ebay.
Best of luck. 🙂

It's best to pay for the item or you will get an unpaid item strike. Too many strikes and you will be limited in your bidding and buying abilities.
