Looking to clean it up.Presented with hundreds of items of no interest on the homepage. I can live with that I suppose but
how do I successfully remove/prevent my recent searches or viewings from showing. What if I am searching for a secret
gift on a shared computer?

Hello 'wasy7',
A secret gift on a shared computer? You've got to be kidding. That's like taking your kids to Toys-R-Us
and telling them to keep their eyes closed whilst you pick out their presents.
"No peeking." . . . Sheesh.
A bit of a general clean-up, though, that we can do.
Anything you may have made the mistake of looking at, even out of idle curiosity, -- ebay thinks this
means you really want it and that if they continue to clobber you about the head with it you'll eventually
buy lots.
To begin, - have you ever 'saved' any searches? or clicked that 'Follow this search' option?
You get rid of those, - from the My eBay drop-down menu at the top of the page, under
Followed searches, and from the right under More actions, click Unfollow search.
That does not completely get rid of it, though, so you then have to click on your own user ID.
For you that's your wasy7. Scroll down to where it says Following.
Waaaaay over on the right where you see the tiny word Settings, click on that and see every Search
you've ever saved no matter how long ago you thought you deleted them.
If you click to X Unfollow, this should allow you to "Unfollow to stop seeing updates in your feed."
If it's just a matter of having looked at and searched for various items which now continue to show up,
try logging out of any and all ebay's you may have visited, clearing out your computer's cache and
cookies (temporary internet files) restart your computer and log back in.
When you are done shopping, log back out again.
It's worth a try but ebay saves everything you've ever looked at, so unless you log out, clear,
and restart every time, some of the viewed items will be dangled at you next visit.
Sorry.
