How to resolve my attempt to pay for my first item after PayPal advised acc't inactive.

I attempted to pay for my first item purchase only to be advised by PayPal that the seller's account was inactive and that I could not proceed with payment.  They suggested I contact ebay to ensure that my reputation on ebay was not effected.

It would have been best NOT to purchase from that seller.

Have you checked his reputation (feedback) prior to buying?

Since the PayPal account he gave in his listing is not active, do not worry about it.  Your reputation will not be affected.

In future, always take a look at the seller's feedback BEFORE buying or bidding.
