Um, maybe they have never received a payment in the form of an e-cheque. I have on some occasions and it's fine. PayPal will notify them they it will clear in about two week's time or so. Once it's cleared, they will again be notified by PayPal to ship the item. No biggy. Seems they're eager for their $.

Let the seller know that because you use a Canadian bank, the echeque will have to clear both the American and the Canadian banking systems.
Even if the seller is Canadian, because Paypal is a US company.
Be friendly and polite.
BTW, if you back your PP account with a credit card, not only does this situation not arise, but you have a second level of appeal if the transaction goes pear-shaped.

As long as the funds are available, the money will go through. I've gotten paid with e-cheques multiple times and never had any issues. Just keep in mind, as a seller, we do not ship out an item until the money is cleared through Paypal. So if it takes 6 business days to clear, the seller would wait those 6 business days to ship. We don't know if the cheque will clear, you know what I mean?
