Ha! I like that one! That will go a long way in my fight with my husband over the best coffee ... Starbucks (me) vs. Timmies (him).

Mevans, if I had to choose between the two, I'm with your hubby! Starbucks coffee is bitter to me - it's not too strong (I like strong coffee) but it's just plain bitter! 😞 Timmies - well ... it's coffee but .... I'd rather have coffee in a lot of smaller, non-chain spots -- they seem to have much better coffee than either of the "top two"!

I've been saying that Starbucks is bitter for years. It seems like they're overcooking bad coffee beans. The people that sit at Starbucks look to me like they want to be seen approving of the Emperor's new coffee.

We don't have Starbucks here in Northern Ontario, but during a visit to Ottawa over the winter, I had the opportunity to visit one that was close to the hotel we were staying at...

I had a coffee and bought my kids each a medium hot chocolate and spent about 9 bucks..... too steep for me, and the coffee was so strong I thought I was going to suffer a heart attack with the heart palpalations it seemed to cause.....

Guess I'm not quite in the right tax bracket or possess a strong enough heart to be a Starbucks fan.....

I can't disagree completely, I had a Starbucks this morning that was kind of bitter. They brew different types every day and the odd one doesn't appeal to me either. I don't take sugar so I can't even "mask" it if its a bitter one. But I do like strong coffee, I can do 3 or 4 cappacinos in a morning if I have the time and the beans so Timmies is just a bit too PG13 for me 🐵
